A Great Language Arts Interactive Notebook Resource

Check out these Reading Response labels that can be used in your language arts interactive notebooks.  Rachel Lynette over at Minds-in-Bloom created them.  I asked her if she had anything like it and lickety-split, she had created this set.  They can be printed on labels or if you are cheap like I am, I print them on colored paper and have students glue them in their notebooks.

You can get the labels by clicking HERE or click on any of the label images.

This is a snippet of one page of labels comparing yourself to a book character.

Another snippet from another page of labels about "jumping into the book."

One last snippet about an important event from a story.  There are 42 pages in all!  A great, pre-made resource to have in your arsenal.

  1. Hi, I absolutely love your blog. I also teach middle school Language Arts and Social Studies. I teach at a small private school so I teach L.A. to grades 6-8 and S.S. to 7/8. I am completely impressed with your interactive notebooks. I really want to do them. I was up until midnight reading all of your blog posts (not a stalker, I promise) I am also very sarcastic and my sixth graders have threatened to get me a mug that says REALLY on it... lol. At any rate, if you have any books that you recommend or specific sellers on TPT that would be wonderful. You should write that book about doing them, I would buy it!
Thank you very much for sharing all of your hard work!

  3. Hi, thank you for sharing your ideas. After over 20 years of teaching, I will be trying notebooking next year. I am excited about it and will check back in with your blog again. On another subject, were you planning to post tweaks that you would make for your custom built desk after using it, along with the measurements? Thanks!

  4. How do I get my hands on the complete set? Is this something from TPT?

  5. I just found your blog through twitter and I too have spent most of the afternoon reading your posts. I teach 5th grade self contained and am using some form of interactive notebooks but needed some better guidelines. Could I also get a link to the complete set of reading responses. Love the label idea.

    1. If you click on the words Reading Response in the blog post, it will take you to the labels.

Here is the link as well, but I do not know how to create a clickable link in a response, so you will have to copy and paste it.

      Hope this helps!

  6. I've been thinking about using interactive notebooks (I teach 7th and 8th grade language arts and AVID) and have decided that I'm definitely moving forward with them this year. Your info here has helped so much with ideas! Have you found any other sites with good examples that have been helpful for you?

    1. They are pretty awesome! But I did not create them...click on any of the above pictures or words that are in a goldish/tanish color and it will take you to her teacherspayteachers store where you can get them.
